New Vol Roll Call (NVRC) is our admitted student reception and will be held in several cities across the country. Students and parents will get an opportunity to mix and mingle with fellow New Vols from their area, eat dinner, play games, and earn fun prizes!
The (NVRC) for the Memphis area will be this Thursday night March 10, 2016 at the Memphis Botanic Gardens from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
For more information about New Vol Roll Call, please visit the following website: http://admissions.utk.edu/newvols/
Our JUMP Overnight Visit Program for minority students will be held on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23, 2016. We believe that parents should feel comfortable about their student’s college choice; therefore, we are extending an invitation to parents to accompany their students with bus transportation (only one parent or legal guardian per student) on this trip to Knoxville. JUMP Overnight Visit Program will be a unique two-day experience which will introduce students and parents to the many features UT has to offer students in the areas of academics, financial aid, and student life. Students will have the opportunity to meet and speak with a variety of UT faculty, staff, and students, participate in student life activities, and take tours of the campus and residence halls.
Interested admitted minority students, please visit the website below and complete the necessary steps in order to sign up for the program. All further communication for the program will be sent via email, so please check your emails often!

We have invited students via email, but students sometimes miss these important invitations during this busy part of their senior year. Please post these events to your morning and afternoon announcements.
As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me!
Thank you and Go Vols!

Important advice when planning college visits:
Paid trips for college visits….suggest you check out carefully, perhaps find someone who has gone on these tours…..
10th and 11th graders are reaching the point in their lives, where they are reading brochures on dozens of colleges and universities they may wish to attend.
They are sometimes overwhelmed in the whole choosing process. We have made the lives of these students as well as their counselors so much easier with college familiarization tours. You and your students, can actually see the college, talk with staff members and students enrolled there. The students come back from the trip (in most cases) then knowing the institution they want to attend. The colleges listed below are a sampling of a college familiarization trip. You can add, delete or alter the itinerary according to your students interest in particular colleges in universities.
Boston, Ma – Harvard University
Optional visits to MIT or Boston University
Time to tour Historic Boston
Providence, RI – Brown University
New Haven, Ct – Yale University
New York City – Columbia University
Optional visit to NYU
Time to tour New York City and see a Broadway Show
New Jersey – Princeton University
Philadelphia, Pa – Penn (University of PA)
Optional visits to Villanova or Temple University
Time to tour Historic Philadelphia
